FOCUS AREA:  Children's Oral Health
 
 
 
CLOSED.  Planning Grant Opportunity:  Caring for Children with Special Health Care Needs
Grant Term:     October 1, 2012 - September 30, 2013 
Maximum Award Amount:     $50,000  
  
RFP Description:  According to the National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs, Chartbook 2005-2006 HRSA, 13.9% of chidlren nationally under 18 years of age are estimated to have special health care needs.  81.1% of famlies report needing preventive care for their child.    Based on these statistics and discussions with key stakeholders in children's oral health, ILCHF announces a request for proposals to implement a coordinated planning process for projects designed to increase the availability of oral health services for chidlren with special health care needs including those requiring anesthesia for the completion of treatment plans.   For this RFP, ILCHF has adopted the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's definiton of children with special health care needs.    See Children's Oral Health page on our website for additional guidance in this area.

RFP Description:   Per discussions with key stakeholders and analysis of capacity in the state of Illinois, there is still a need for capacity building efforts, particularly in areas of the state that lack children's oral health services.  ILCHF  announces a request for proposals to implement a coordinated planning process for projects designed to increase access to oral health services by establishing new and/or expanding oral health services for children.

Funding Description:
