Amy Starin, Ph.D., LCSW

Amy Starin, Ph.D., LCSW is a clinical social worker with 32 years of experience in the field of children’s mental health. She has held leadership positions in community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, government, university research and teaching, and non-profit organizations. Her area of specialization within children’s mental health is the development of systems of care to support parents in caring for their children withina full spectrum of early intervention needs to serious mental health impairment.

Dr Starin’s expertise includes:

  • Development of evidence-informed mental health systems
  • Public Policy and Program development.
  • Qualitative and quantitative applied research methods ensuring data driven decisions and measured outcomes.
  • Effective and accountable management of public and private grants and funds.
  • Engaging and sustaining internal and external stakeholders
  • Teaching children’s mental health diagnosis and intervention at the graduate level
  • Evidence Based Clinical Skills

Dr Starin joined the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation as Senior Program Officer for Mental Health in July of 2016. She maintains responsibility for the Foundation’s Mental Health and Unmet and Emerging Needs portfolios.
