Marissa D. Sanders, Senior Program Officer of Children’s Oral Health & Other Initiatives

Marissa D. Sanders is a forward-looking, solutions-driven leader with over a decade of experience advancing national and global grantmaking strategies, scaling operations, and managing multimillion-dollar programs to help organizations deliver on their strategic and philanthropic objectives. She has successfully directed the allocation of more than $325M in federal grant funding and managed $4M in oral health initiatives and $6.5M in nationwide quality improvement projects, consistently delivering results on time and within scope.

 

Her career spans leadership roles with the American Medical Association, American Board of Medical Specialties, American Dental Association, and Alliant Insurance Services where she built a track record of driving operational excellence, integrating health equity into organizational strategy and implementing cost-saving initiatives. As Principal Consultant of MarSan Group, she has secured $4.75M in funding for healthcare, education, and community development programs. Recognized for her strengths in philanthropy, strategic planning, program evaluation, and cross-functional leadership, Marissa combines deep expertise in grantmaking with strong financial and operational management skills. She holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy & Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences, both from the University of Illinois.
