Enhanced Pathways to Oral Health for Women, Infants, and Children Initiative RFP
The Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation (ILCHF) seeks to provide 14 two-year grants of up to $40,000 each (for a total investment of $560,000) to Local Health Departments (LHDs) advancing strategies that improve the oral health of families enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Grant funding can primarily be directed toward the salaries and professional development of new and/or current Community Health Workers and primary medical providers that would be trained to offer oral health education, patient navigation, and integrated preventive care to infants, children, and current or expectant mothers.
ILCHF is proud to partner with Illinois Department of Public Health – Oral Health Section (IDPH-OHS) to enhance LHD’s oral health operations in WIC clinics. If awarded, IDPH-OHS would collaborate with grant recipients to deliver technical assistance opportunities to Community Health Workers and medical staff to ensure every child in Illinois grows up healthy!
Note: In order to be considered for funding, applicants must be an Illinois-based Local Health Department with one or more established WIC clinics.
